link from main page to page1 (new content)

hi, Mike,

i am slowly moving on to next step now - adding a new page.
so i got some questions. sorry if you've already covered this somewhere.

1. How to configure and set up robots.txt and redirect? or are they not really necessary for the site structure we have with BU system?

2. in your dog allergy site, i see that you are linking from the main page article to your other page in two different ways; 1) by simply announcing within the main page article, 2) by linking with anchor text. Is this for SEO purpose or for easier navigation by human visitors, or both?

New Article Just Added! Organic Dog Foods are Good Dog Allergy Treatments! (==> simply announcing in words)
New Article: Is your dog Itching Excessively? (==> anchor text)

3. BU Linking & Site structure diagram: when we link to our WP pages, we don't use the same BU blogs we used to link to our temp page until we completed the 16th link to make the links as diverse as possible. Is my understanding correct?

And, BLOG6 & BLOG9 are linking to both pages and posts. What's the purpose of doing this, and how often do we do this.. like for example, 1 out of every 10 BU link will be linking to both page and announcement post?

am i correct in saying that my main page article had better be more of a general introduction and covering all the different sub-page topics (related keword topics) i will be adding later on?

thanks~

Don't worry about it unless you want to keep something out.

That is suggest linking to spread in ideal fashion.

Diverse is better but not worth much thought. Just find as many new places before you start revisiting places you have already linked in.

nd, BLOG6 & BLOG9 are linking to both pages and posts. What's the purpose of doing this, and how often do we do this.. like for example, 1 out of every 10 BU link will be linking to both page and announcement post?

The idea is to not have EVERY post the same - as in pattern - so some you link ONE thing - some you link 2 things etc. Also - it forces you to spread more evenly and add a 2nd link in while still following a basic plan for new pages

Main page article should cover main keyword target as best as you can but it is also busiest part of site so you can add in links to other places on the site as well. Best to keep on topic though. :D
