Barand New Domain Indexed in 24 hours!

Postby cjman » Tue Oct 19, 2010 11:27 pm

Hi

Just got a brand new domain indexed in a fraction less than 24 hours using the basic HTML page as shown in the 12 steps.

I've previously installed Wordpress everytime so I'm eager to see how the site will start to perform!

Keep you posted!

That's great!

It'll do well if yu resist the temptation to go too big too fast!

Ease into it and let google see how nice you are and let them trust your site so they'll give you the top spots :D !

Sites were indexed now there not!

Postby jwboing » Fri Jan 14, 2011 12:42 am

I put up 5 sites on Friday. Did not do anything to them, no blog posts or anything. I put up sites I built with Hostgator supplied Sitebuilder (am new and they said it was simple)
I checked site: for indexing all weekend. Monday morning had one indexed and by Monday evening they were all indexed. One of the sites i had put up 3 other additional pages. Later in the week on Wednesday, I checked indexing and NONE of them were indexed anymore! Whats up with that?!
On one of the sites, begining Wednesday evening I started posting blogs to the site. I posted one, then delayed the other 3 to trickle in. It is now Thursday, no indexing on any of the five sites. I will now just sit back and watch. Does this sound normal? Also, I have listened over and over to videos, but I missed diretion on how to set up a simple HTML page?! Could someone please post a link to that video or info please? Thanks

That does not sound normal. But I would not worry about it.

It's hard to reply to your questions because what you wrote is very confusing.

I do not know enough about what you did or didn't do.

What I will say is that GENERALLY - not you - it is GENERALLY a good idea to keep doing stuff - you don't just sit back and wait.

This stuff is not rocket science - it's simply a matter of getting something of value UP and then linking in a few blogs to make sure GOOGLE NOTICES.

If you're doing this - the sites will get indexed - usually pretty fast like blackspace2 and other users report.

I know for an absolute beginner it can be a lot to take in - don't worry - you'll get familair with howthings work. 8-)

Hello jwboing:
The Step 4 Video found at http://www.bloggingunderground.com/memb ... index.html shows Mike creating a temporary page with DreamWeaver. A simple HTML template that can be used is provided in this forum at viewtopic.php?f=8&t=54

Hope this helps.[/quote]

Thanks, I will review video 4. I don't have Dreamweaver, so was lookin for something free to start with, sounds like i can find that from your link! Thanks.

I have a friend who builds sites and does SEO for clients. He charges for a minimum of 4 months, and says the results that appear in under 90 days are MEANINGLESS. To him, the only thing he cares about is where a page is positioned on day 91. Before that, all he does is post content and build back-links. He says the more back-links a page gets, the higher it will be on day 91.

In fact, he says back-link counts are the single most highly-correlated factor he's found in terms of where web pages eventually get ranked.

He's had pages show up in 24 hours, then disappear after a few days, and show back up like clockwork on day 91. Most bounce around like crazy, even appearing and disappearing for a while. Every now and then, he said a page will show up and stay relatively stable, but it's by far the exception in his experience than the rule.

As an ex SEO I mostly agree

However, a SEO is normally hired to promote a new site in a tough market, or an existing site with lots of problems

The types of sites we're mostly building using Mike's method are easy-pickings, although MasterMind likes a challenge and goes for the tougher keywords

If you picked an easy to rank site, then I suspect you'll stay on page #1, though you may not stay at the top of the page all the time

There is definately a "grace" period when Google gives a new site the benefit of doubt - but by about the 3rd month they've had a good look at the site and the backlinks - that's when a lot of sites plummet down the rankings

I have friends who say a lot of stuff - I don't always agree with them. :P

Hmmmm, My last 6 domains were all indexed in less than 24 hours. Some came in high and stayed there. Some came in high and disappeared and then reappeared a few days later at a lower position. 1 came in low and just freaking disappeared 2 days later.

Having been in SEO since day 4 on the net I now things bounce around, a lot. You are much more likely to have new domains bouncing around than old ones and it's entirely normal. MOF I'd say it's more normal than a site coming in at number 3 and staying there.

It's not something to worry about for the first few weeks anyway. Don't freak out, just keep getting some links and putting up new pages as Mike says. The site will eventually settle into it's proper spot.

Indexing And Ranking

Postby prebuilt » Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:49 am

I think we should all make the distinction between indexing and ranking

If you do a google search site:domainname.com and your site is known then it's indexed

If your site shows up on page #1 when you enter your primary search phrase in google then it's ranked

Could be I'm doing things differently to everybody else, but I only do the keyword search, as I expect to see my new site top ranked. So far 70 to 80 percent page #1 success rate with carefully researched primary search phrase/domain name that Micro Niche Finder software says does not need many backlinks to top rank

If I have to resort to site:domainname.com because I can't find the temporary page ranked on the first 3 results pages using keyword search, then that site is going to be a dud as far as I'm concerned
