Why can't I find many BUannouncement blogs on Google anymore

Postby rachelfc » Fri Mar 23, 2012 10:02 pm

I can't find many BU blogs of the BU network on the Google Search Engine any more, like CDIGG.COM,fascinated.us and etc. Several days ago I searched these blogs on Google and they were on Google page 1,but now nothing. And I also found that all the Blog names on the BU Post Utility are hidden now. Is there anything wrong with all these Blogs now?

Just now I searched some of the BU announcement blogs, like http://www.cdigg.com,it is no longer indexed by Google.I had several posts on BU announcement blogs for my squidoo lens these two days, but they don't even indexed. So I checked the blogs,it is so frustrating to find that some of these BU announcement blogs disappeared from Google.

Mike, please tell what's happening, thanks. Is the network affected by Google Panda?

Yes. Some of the blogs have been affected. Not all.

This is not something unique to BU.

I personally think the low value content algo was adjusted and it swung too far. I know many people not connected in any way who are seeing their sites go out of Google.

I am hoping it swings back some because sites that had real value are also falling out of the index.

I am evaluating everything and trying to better understand how and why things are happening.

I'd say the most important thing right now is trying to make every site have value - starting with the home page.

If the home page is weak or has scraped content it is in jeopardy. So start evaluating and improving your home pages.

Hang in there. I have been through many ups and downs and there is always a way.

I am curious did any of you get the Notice of Detected Unnatural Links messages from Google.

Because what I 'm reading is SERIOUS - Sites that get this message will start dropping within a few weeks at most, and I'm getting all kinds of advise: From ignoring them to responding to them.

Personally, I would respond to them...once I sort my links out.

A few of my sites that had links from blog networks have received this message. What I am going to do is delete all the posts/links that I can manage, and for those that I cannot remove, I will just tell Google that I can't.

This does not seem to be algorithmic alone, it looks like a combination of both manual/algo/custom-written algo. Google is crawling blog networks and sending out the messages to all the sites being linked in them.

Sad  but that's the nature of this Beast we are dealing with. And oh - it's run by humans. Personally, I think there is more to it than just, "we need to improve our search".

They are really going all out to destroy a lot of people this year.

For all of you still wondering... Google did indeed put a stop to all Blogging Networks including BU. At least that is how its looking. So the writing is clearly on the wall. If your still going about business and still posting here or on any Blog network for that matter your just wasting your time and doing yourself more harm than good!

I am a new-be here at BU. About a week ago I joined from a recommendation from a well respected marketer who I usually always take advice from. And no, I'm not madd what so ever at this respected marketer I listened to or am I in any way upset with Mike here at BU about what is going on here.

Its simply called Doing Business in Google's Playground! They own it and they make the rules...Period!

And I can understand why they did it also. And I'm not upset with them either. Google just wants a more natural showing in their search results to their clients (you and me). And they want a more natural linking structure going on also that gets you to page one.

These Blog networks did work for awhile. I knew this one here was in trouble this past thurs. when I did a search and checked for Mike's one domain he uses in the training "dog allergy treatments" was over night gone from the first page of Google and I even checked page 2 and 3 and still nothing...its gone!

So you just put two and two together and there is the cold hard truth looking at you between the eyes.

I fought joining any of these Blog networks for over two years until this past week and joined up here at BU because out of all the Blog Networks that were offered, BU seemed like the best choice and the more natural way of linking (one link at a time) instead of mass linking quickly like the other Blog networks do.

And I also joined because I figured it was the only way I could keep competing with every one else (thousands of marketers) who was using these blog network linking methods! And it was working for the last two years. Lets face it....Getting a link with your keywords in it linking back to your money site...Priceless!!!

So what do you do now? Simple, we don't Blame anyone and we move on! We learned from it and now know more clearly what Google wants.

So lets just give it to them. It should make all of us in the long run better marketers out of it and weed out some of the gray area and gray marketers that was and still are trying to game the system in some way and always will be.

My advice...You will start seeing some new products popping up in your circle soon promising yet some more gray hat tactics to game the system...RUN from them and don't buy them! This is how some of these gray marketers make their money, off of you! Selling an easy way or some so called way around something tool or software system to give you the edge somehow...It doesn't last!

Although, maybe it is time for Mike to make some kind of statement on this matter which I'm sure he will soon. I'm sure he is shocked like everyone else is and I'm sure Mike will do what he has to do to make it right here with his customers (you and me).

So to everyone here...Good Luck and Keep on Keeping On and Stay Happy...Its not the end of the world...YET! :D

First off I understand the concern. Please realize that a lot of what is being said is speculation.

I know it can be confusing but from my experience there is always a way to rise above difficult times and this will be no exception.

I've done my best to try and keep Google happy by doing only things they like and now they are making some changes.

It will simply be a matter of adapting to keep them happy.

I'm doing my best to analyze what's going on and figure out the best way to deal with the changes.

I have my own opinions and while I can't say I am not annoyed - I am not worried and surely not panicking.

The changes absolutely have to do with low value content and the first place Google looks at is the home page.

Right now I firmly believe the best thing you can do is work on improving your sites home pages.

I'll share more details and info when I have confirmed more but for now my advice to everyone who is worried about their sites being hurt is to make sure your sites have good original articlez on the home pages and the site looks like it has a real purpose.

It is very unlikely that LINKING to a site will cause harm to the site as anyone can come in and cause harm to competitors and that simply is not the case.

I am hearinng from a LOT of people that they lost sites which got deindexed. This is NOT unique to BLOG NETWORKS.

The common factors are they have admitted their sites were WEAK or even BAD or had scraped content from ezinearticles on the home pages.

Same thing with my sites. Sites in the BU network and sites NOT in the BU NETWORK.

not ALL bu SITES WERE DEINDEXED. nOT ALL OF my SITES WERE DEINXED. oNLY THE WEAK ONES.

I see a LOT of my sites that were VALUABLE sites were not affected.

They are still indexed.

Some of them are RANKING HIGHER.

Some of them are RANKING HIGHER for VERY COMPETITIVE terms and YES I lost some links. BUT SO DID EVERYONE ELSE!

So even though I lost links from the BU blogs - some of my sites have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY even for very competitive keywords.

I've heard this from other people too.

I had sites deindexed that I can honestly say were WEAK. They were SHORT on offering value to the end user.

They were GOOD enough for me - I don't think they should have been banned - but obviuosly Google is making changes and they are FOCUSING ON QUALITY

They want quality - it's very clear this is what the big picture is.

ALL my sites that were STRONG GOOD SITES with quality are still in the index and still getting traffic.

I have friends and relatives who are NOT in any way connected to any blog network or even bad linking and they have told me their sites are NOT indexed by Google any more.

The deindexing of sites was NOT JUST BLOG NETWORKS period.

If you were NOT deindexed that is great - you might be fine.

BUT it is very clear that Google is making QUALITY ADJUSTMENTS.

Either you embrace what is happening and deal with it or you ignore it and try to blame other things.

In the long run we will ALL need to improve quality or risk getting deindexed.

For now it seems very clear to me that the best thing I can do and anyone can do that wants to protect their sites that are indexed by Google is to make sure that the HOME PAGE has real value for a visitor.

I don't have all the answers NOR does anyone else.

A lot of the stuff being said is pure speculation.

It is 100% clear that what they did was for IMPROVING QUALITY on Google searches.

LINKS coming in most likely will NOT cause problems for you so far as QUALITY is concerned.

You can't control who links to you.

You CAN control what is on your site. So if there is a possibility it is WEAK in value try to improve it.

I do understand that blog netowrks have been hit hard. Some more than others but this is far wider reaching than just BU.

If your site is still in the index you are lucky.

You should not be worrying. You should be focusing on delivering good content.

If you have sites deindexed that's certainly not good - but the're gone - don't spend time on those for now - instead of focusing on what you have that is NOT GOOD or LOST - try to focus your efforts on what you have that is good and make that work as best it can. :D
