Burned sites

Postby MasterMind » Sat Sep 24, 2011 8:08 am

In the 12 steps Mike talks about being careful of the domains you buy as they may have been used for something illegal and been banned by google. Mike suggests if your site isn't gaining any rank this may be the problem.

While I was reading someother stuff at google I found some info on that problem that I never knew about. There is a solution that doesn't require you to close your site and start over.

Simply file a request for reinclusion at google and explain that you are the new owner of the domain. According to google that should solve the problem.

Somedays it's a wonder what you find when looking for something else.

While that is true - you can try to get a reinclusion request accepted - I can't help but feel that somewhere there is a marker so they can still keep an eye on the domain.

I'm not saying it's hopeless - but the key to making LOTS of money is spending the most time working on the domains that bring the greatest return.

If you have several in the pipeline - surely a few of them have risen to the top and are exhibiting that they are magical and have super powers

There's also the risk that inviting Google to take a closer look at your sites might cause issues for your existing sites. Assuming your sites are whiter than white this shouldn't be an issue, but unfortunately a manual review is subjective, unlike the google algorithms.

Sure to all points above but I was thinking newbie problem not old webmaster with umpteen sites problem. If you've only got 1 site and it's new and it won't rank I see no harm in giving it a shot before going on to the next new domain. With more than a couple of sites involved I'd have to really believe all of them were perfect before I did it but with just one I wouldn't worry about it.

Life is too short to spend time on things that are difficult. Better way is to spend time on something more likely to provide a good return on time invested. 8-)
