I'm a newbie and have watched some training videos, but I still have questions:
1.When I link my blog, do I use the url of my domain or the url of the page I want to rank?
2.How many blogs should I post the same article in?
3.What’s the difference between a regular blog and an announcement blog?
4.If I contribute an article to the member’s blogs is it supposed to be originals only or can it be a modified PLR?

I'll try to answer your questions for you

1.When I link my blog, do I use the url of my domain or the url of the page I want to rank?

A. The first page that needs linking to and indexing on a 'new' website/blog is your home page. But once this page is indexed (visible in the search engines (SE)), then you just continue to build pages and link to them (there's a video for this). Generally speaking (although not always), a website or blog tends to have more links to its home page than its inside pages. So a little extra link juice to the home page is never a bad thing, and shows a more natural pattern for the project.

Once you start to get visitors to the blog and you see a page that is doing quite well in your stats, i.e. getting plenty of visits, then continue to add more links to it as this will increase its popularity in the eyes of a SE BOT. Don't forget to use your keyword phrases in your link text, e.g. male pattern baldness, as an example

2. How many blogs should I post the same article in?

A. None! At least not without making the article more unique than the original (there's video on this too). If your content is 100% duplicated, then the priority will be given to the first of those duplicates that the SE's index. Hope that makes sense?

3.What’s the difference between a regular blog and an announcement blog?

A. A regular blog, is your blog, or your website. An announcement blog is where you announce your blog or website by writing a blurb (a short description), and adding a link (or 2 ), into that written blurb which then points to one or two of the pages on your blog/website.

4.If I contribute an article to the member’s blogs is it supposed to be originals only or can it be a modified PLR?

A. The member's blogs are really there for getting external links to your pages and so a full article contribution is not really necessary. Most announcement blogs simply have extracts, or tasters if you prefer, of a topic. In that blurb are your links that point to the full piece which will be the article on your own blog/website.

Off the top of my head, I think an announcement blurb only needs to be 125 words or more, so no need to throw in a 700 word PLR article.

I always write unique blurbs in the announcement blogs because it only takes me a couple of minutes. You don't have to do that, it's just my way of keeping all my blurbs unique and whether or not it makes any difference I couldn't tell you.

Great response Aitch! I don't have much to add - but will add my personal stamp on this real quick

The idea is to create blog posts with relevant content that contain links to each page on your site that has value.

Once you get to #1 you don't need to keep linking as much and can focus on boosting other pages that need to be linked

2.How many blogs should I post the same article in?

If you post in the BU Blogs the articles/post content needs to be at least 30% different than anything you have posted.

It's in your best interest to make each post the best it can be with related keywords so you get more of a relevance boost.

3.What’s the difference between a regular blog and an announcement blog?

BU Blogs are called "announvement blogs" because we use them to announce our URL's

4.If I contribute an article to the member’s blogs is it supposed to be originals only or can it be a modified PLR?

Originals are always best - at the very least add a few extra sentences and make your post contain related keywords.

Thanks so much Aitch and Mike! Regarding question 2 - "How many blogs should I post the same article in?" I wasn't referring to the content of the PLR. I was referring to the blog I want to submit on the blog post utility. I chose a related "in house" blog to post to and then thought "can I post the same article I wrote on more than one in house blog?" I read the rules, but I'm not sure if they refer to what I'm talking about:

That means you should only link URL’s from the same site in no more than 5 posts on a blog in our network. If you link 2 different URL’s per site in each post – that’s a max of 10 links from your domain in a blog.

So to clarify my question. I have an article written and I'm ready to post it on an in house blog using the blog post utility. Can I or should I post that same article in more than one in house blog?

Post in several different announcement blogs, but vary your text for each one so that it is at least 30% unique.

Ideally each post would be 100% unique and loaded with tons of relevant keywords and content.

Based on how much time and your level of committment you need to decide waht you can do that gets as close to that goal as possible.

At the very least don't post the same exact article more than once. at a minimum it needs to be at least 30% uniuqe.

The conecpt is - your links will have more value if they come from pages that have greater value.

Thanks so much guys! This blog posting is turning me into a real writer. I actually enjoy producing my own material even though I use some PLR's for content and ideas. Right now I'm working on pages for my website, but soon I'll be posting blogs in the BPU.

Have you tried rewriting a PLR article by putting it in your own words?

You can also do that with ezinearticles.com articles and other news stories.

It's so easy - there really is no need to spin anything unless you are trying to do massive robot action.
