WPMU multisite expert needed

IS anyone out there familiar with setting up and tricking out a WP blog with WPMU multisite???

I want to create a really good free hosted blug like www.edublogs.org but don't have time to learn all the best plugins to use.

(THAT's a great place to post articles and get links by the way!) :)
